Playfair Park, Saanich, BC: Camas, Buttercups, and Rhododendrons
Playfair Park, in the middle of a residential Saanich neighbourhood, is a flower-filled delight in the spring.
Trails wind through a grove of rhododendrons, some of which are over 50 years old.
There is a large Garry Oak meadow, which was a carpet of deep blue camas and cheery yellow western buttercups when we visited last Sunday.
There is also a 300-ft. long perennial border.
This is a park that I’ll make an effort to visit every year for its colourful spring display.
